We are a world music ensemble. Our band members arrived in Newcastle from many parts of the world. We play soulful, passionate rootsy reggae, stomping township jive, atmospheric middle eastern ballads and jumping latin percussion grooves. We are a fantastic festival band. Featuring a dynamic four piece brass section, saz, celtic fiddle, drums, bass, guitar, keys and beautiful multilingual vocals.
The band developed as a natural extension of the Crossings organisation - a community music charity project based in Newcastle Upon Tyne which was set up to support, engage and help integrate asylum seekers and refugees into the local community.
The project creates a welcoming space where asylum seekers and refugees come together with local and international musicians, to collaborate on the development and performance of music, promoting racial harmony, equality, diversity and human rights.
